be the gamer (finally)
So, I think I’m finally going to get an X-Box 360 like I kept telling myself I would. I estimated how much money I’m going to get on my next paycheck, and it should be enough to get the 360 Arcade, 3 months of XBL and two discounted games. I want to get a good single player game, and a good multiplayer game. I know for sure I’m getting the Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition with all the DLC missions, which is like 100+ hours of single player gameplay, but I don’t know what I should get for my multiplayer game. Halo? Modern Warfare 2? Left 4 Dead 2? I have no idea. If you have a recommendation, feel free to tell me.
Oh, and my gamertag is kicksterflixter. You can add it if you want.
If you get any of those games I will play them with you. They are all pretty good multiplayers with their share of ups and downs. The bigger annoyances for Halo and MW2 is that 1) there are some really hardcore people that will frustrate you very quickly and 2) there are some really annoying people that you will mute as quickly as you can. I don’t find that as much with left 4 dead for it is not as hardcore as the other two. But that’s the fault for left 4 dead 2, it doesn’t have as much to be hardcore with. However, I find it tons of fun to play. Survival is impossible. I can’t wait to get a team of 4 people online to kick ass with. I’m also a Halo fanboy per se. I jumped on the series with halo 2, and stuck to it almost to a religious point, playing with Les for hours on end. Halo 3 was just as fun and with the numerous amounts of maps and player created content (me, mikael, and les have created some fun as shit maps), it is also a great multiplayer game. Modern Warfare 2 is also a great multiplayer game; it boasts a rpg style fps which is puts it apart from most other games. Having the ability to choose your abilities strategically and unlock thousands of challenges and go up in level, it gives you plenty to do.
But honestly what makes a multiplayer game great is the people you play them with. So honestly I would base it more upon who you look forward to playing the game with. Like, who does and doesn’t have this game?
I have all 3, so I guess I can’t really help you much more than giving you my opinion on what those games give and a better perspective on how to look at what really makes a good multiplayer. Hope this helps.
